About

Analytics should help you, not watch your visitors

PlainAnalytics is a small, independent product built in the UK for people who want to understand their website without becoming part of the surveillance economy.

Why PlainAnalytics exists

Web analytics drifted a long way from its purpose. Most site owners want to know a handful of things: how many people visited, where they came from, which pages they read and whether they signed up or bought something. Yet the default tools collect far more than that, wrap it in a dashboard that takes a course to understand, and ask every visitor to click through a cookie banner first.

We built PlainAnalytics to answer those everyday questions on a single page, and to do it without identifying anyone. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no stored IP addresses and no profiles that follow people from site to site.

What we believe

  • Less data is a feature. We only record what is needed to produce aggregate statistics. Data we never collect can't leak, be sold or be misused.
  • Simple beats clever. If a number needs a paragraph to explain, it probably doesn't belong on the dashboard.
  • Fast pages matter. The tracking script is about 2.5 KB and loads asynchronously, so measuring your site never slows it down.
  • You should be able to leave. Export your data whenever you like. Our tracking API is compatible with the one many privacy-friendly tools already use, so switching to or from PlainAnalytics is a one-line change.

How we're funded

PlainAnalytics has no advertising business and doesn't sell data. Our only incentive is to make analytics you're happy to use.

Where we are

PlainAnalytics is made and hosted in the United Kingdom. Your analytics data is stored on servers in London.

Analytics you can read in a minute, and explain to anyone
