Shared links and embeds

Make a dashboard public, share it privately with a link, or embed it in another page.

You can give people read-only access to a site's dashboard without inviting them to your team. All of this lives in Site settings → Visibility.

Public dashboard

Turn on Make stats publicly available and anyone can see the dashboard at:

https://plainwebanalytics.com/example.com

Visitors to a public dashboard can change the date range and apply filters, but can't see your settings or change anything.

Shared links give access to a private dashboard to anyone with the link — handy for clients, investors or a team channel.

  1. In Shared links, click Add shared link.
  2. Give it a name so you remember who it's for.
  3. Optionally turn on password protection and choose a password. Visitors will be asked for it before seeing the dashboard.

Each link looks like https://plainwebanalytics.com/share/example.com?auth=…. Delete a link at any time to revoke access.

Embed a dashboard

You can embed your live dashboard in another web page, such as an internal wiki or a public "open stats" page.

  1. Create a shared link without a password.
  2. In Embed dashboard, paste the link, choose a theme (light, dark or system) and optionally a background colour such as transparent.
  3. Click Generate embed code and paste the result into your page:
<iframe plain-embed src="https://plainwebanalytics.com/share/example.com?auth=XXXX&embed=true&theme=light" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" loading="lazy" style="width: 1px; min-width: 100%; height: 1600px;"></iframe>
<div style="font-size: 14px; padding-bottom: 14px;">Stats powered by <a target="_blank" style="color: #0d8475; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://plainwebanalytics.com">PlainAnalytics</a></div>
<script async src="https://plainwebanalytics.com/js/embed.host.js"></script>

The small embed.host.js script resizes the iframe to fit the dashboard as its content changes.

Guests and team members

If someone needs ongoing access, or needs to edit settings, invite them instead: as a guest to one site (Site settings → People), or as a team member to every site in your team.
